Here's a different exercise for this this group because the Simple Past and the Past Participle are the same as the Present.
Why? Because the pronunciation rule for regular verbs is to add 't or 'd to the base form.
Try to say "shut't" or "spread'd" and you'll see why we don't try.
(Yes, for regular verbs we've found another solution:
we put a vowel in between and pronounce "wanted" = "wantid", "ended" = "endid", etc.)
